I love autumn. I get really excited about fall fashion, I think I've been hardwired since school age to expect to get new clothes and create new looks in September. Fall fashion is amazing and I'm always so inspired at this time of year. If I had to name my mood board, I would call it Uptown Ease. My style is definitely more uptown because I like luxe fabrics, rich prints, modern pieces and stately bags (my downfall). However, I never met an animal print that I didn't love and I over accessorize like a drunk pirate who stumbled upon a treasure chest. The combination is modern, sophisticated and versatile. I'll focus heavily on camel, chocolate and olive hues for staples such as cashmere sweaters. Leopard print booties as a constant. Leopard is very much a neutral... for me anyway. Stripes! So classic. Pops of amazing color...rich red, vibrant orange and crisp white. I'm obsessing over leather shorts with thick tights, shearling jackets and fur vests and scarfs. It's all so cohesive, that I want to be able to mix and match to create tons of looks.
I love Disney princesses! I grew up on the princesses and idealized everything about them. They are ideal, no? Beauty, brains, wealth, ah-mazing couture dresses and the love of THE perfect man... they're living the f@#king dream. I found (stole) these pics...I don't remember were... but here are some of our favorite princesses in some hysterical scenarios. It begs the question... what happens when people (princesses) stop being being polite and start getting real... the Real World!
Princess Jasmine can't rely on the Genie to fix the crisis in the Middle East.
Prince Charming ain't so charming anymore, huh, Snow White?
Lil Red Riding Hood eats her feelings. The wolf just started the NutriSystem diet, so she's alright.
Cinderella lost everything during the recession and now she's at truck stops turning tricks.
This is what's going on in German Playboy! If American Playboy served up anything this major I might be a subscriber! I've never actually seen a Playboy magazine but just judging from the skankiness of Hef's girlfriends...I'm imagining cupcake pasties, pink knee socks and fuzzy bunny ears. Bunny ears could have actually worked for this shoot. All be it those bunny ears were encrusted with diamonds and onyx.
Here's a LOVE issue four cover that I just found so it wasn't included in the poll (Which LOVE cover do you love?). Ironically, it's my favorite cover. Kelly Brooks looks incredible! There isn't much clothes but there's tons of style. I love the big hair, the sexy makeup and the amazing pastel hued fur that barely covers up her insane body. It's sexy, glamourous and sweet.
Ooooo... this is exactly how my dreams look. Isn't it spectacular? I love Versace, so these Versace leggings are soooo major! Check the jeweled McQueen heels...I die. The mash-up of purple, fuschia and green, jewels, supermodels, Coco Chanel and Dorothy in her ruby pumps and trendy ankle socks are giving me agita. I can't take it! I'm going to sleep so I can visit the magical world of colors, designers, royalty and patterns. Don't wake me.
This Fall 2010 Miu Miu dress is clearly the toast of fashion editorials far and wide. Typically, it's considered a faux pas to see the same dress on the front cover so many times in such a short time span. I think that the fashion house has a gem on their hands because no dress is getting more press than this one. The dress is pretty amazing. Sexy, babydoll, cleavage, lace and bow... this dress has it all. The dress can go overtly sexy as seen on Eva Mendes for W magazine, pretty and prim as seen in the Vogue Australia. Each cover has it's own distinct personality... what an eclectic piece.
This is perfection. The styling is impeccable and I want to look like this everyday. I would give my right foot for the Burberry Prosum cropped shearling. It's love. I would give up my entire closet for all the pieces in this shoot. And, her sick hair. European editorials always bring it.
